LGBTQIA+
If you are a parent of a child at the school or you are a student and would like to have a discussion with a member of staff in relation to LGBTQIA+ please contact reception on 01604 230240 and ask to speak to Mrs Greenaway, Assistant Head for Personal Development and Senior Mental Health Lead or email directly via: lgreenaway@nsbtrust.school
If you have an urgent concern please use the usual channels to report a concern online or email Form Tutors/Year Team Leaders/Directors directly.
Within PSHE, PD and Assemblies LGBTQIA+ will be explored in relation to Equalities (Equality Act 2010) and protected characteristics as well in relationships education, a compulsory aspect of RSE Education. There is an LGBTQIA+ drop in session for 6th Form once a week in the Wellbeing Lounge as well as a weekly lunch time session that all students can access. This could be supportive or could involve creating educational resources/displays or could simply be a space to "chill and chat" for LGBTQIA+ students and their friends.
