Applicants on the Waiting List
Good luck with your results on Thursday 22nd August, we hope you have done as well as you wish.
If you have met both the minimum and subject specific entry requirements for the subjects you originally applied for, and still wish to do those subjects, then simply upload your results to the portal so that we can confirm that you are eligible for consideration in all subsequent rounds of offers. You can take a photo of your results, ensuring that this shows your name and result outcomes clearly, and upload this in the documents section at the bottom left of the portal. Alternatively, you can bring your results in to school for us to take a copy during the day on Thursday or Friday.
The deadline for letting us know your results is 12 o'clock midday Friday 23rd August, so if you cannot get in to school whilst it is open, please do use the portal.
If you failed to meet the subject specific requirements in one (or more) subject(s), but did meet the minimum entry requirements, you can request to change your course choices via a portal message for alternative courses in which you did meet the subject specific entry requirements. It is essential that you still select 3 subjects to be considered for (or 4 if including Further Maths) – you cannot say “either sociology or history” for example, you need to pick which one.
We will run our random selection process from the waiting list after 3.00pm on Friday 23rd August, in line with our Admissions Policy, and will inform successful students through the portal. Any further places that become available after 23rd August will be allocated as promptly as we can, so do not give up if you don’t get a place in the next round of offers.
There will be an additional induction day for students who are offered a place from the waiting list.
If you will be away on holiday when the results are out, I would strongly advise you make arrangements for someone else to act on your behalf to ensure that your results are uploaded, otherwise your conditional offer may not be converted to a firm place.
If you have difficulties using the portal, please email Mrs L. Shocklidge, our Admissions Officer, on: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Right to Appeal
If, after offers have been made from our waiting list, you have been unsuccessful in gaining a place at the school, you have the right to appeal the non-allocation of a place. Should you decide to appeal, our Notice of Appeal can be found on this page. Alternatively, this can be collected from our reception, or a copy can be requested from Mrs L. Shocklidge on 01604 230240. Please send your completed Notice of Appeal to Admissions Officer, Northampton School for Boys, Billing Road, Northampton, NN1 5RT.
Guidance Notes are attached to the Notice of Appeal however, if you have any queries in relation to this process after reading these, please contact Mrs L. Shocklidge at the school.
