Northampton School for Boys operates a 16-19 Discretionary Bursary Fund to help students continue in full time education. From September 2026 this is available to all students with a family income below £28,685. A separate Entitlement Bursary exists for those Sixth Form students who are in the care of or have just left the care of the Local Authority, or are living independently (income support), or are disabled and qualify for benefits in their own right as a result of their disability.

Both the Entitlement and the Discretionary Bursary provide financial support for costs such as travel, office dress, course related expenditure (e.g. music tuition), educational visits, etc.
