Temperatures are set to rise to extreme levels in the morning and remain dangerously high throughout the day and into the early evening.  Whilst some areas at the school benefit from air-conditioning, a considerable number of rooms and common spaces do not and temperatures are set to exceed levels deemed ‘safe for education’ by the DfE.  Therefore, mindful of the welfare for both students and staff, the school has taken the decision, in common with the majority of education providers in areas worst hit by the unprecedented ‘heat dome’, to close for the day.

Whilst we appreciate this may create childcare issues for some, we trust parents and carers will be supportive of the fact that this difficult decision has been taken in the best interest of all individuals who would have been attending the school site tomorrow.
