Kenilworth Castle visit

Year 10 Historians were exemplary on their visit to Kenilworth Castle on Friday 18th July.
Their knowledge from lessons came in useful and proved strong when investigating Leicester's gatehouse, and they also demonstrated a great understanding of how Dudley expanded the castle to impress Elizabeth I. The boys had great fun exploring the castle in Minecraft, and even dressing up as Dudley and Elizabeth (photos attached!) Some suggested it could be the new school uniform!
A great end to the summer term, the boys did the school proud.

"On the 18th July we went to Kenilworth castle. It was an amazing trip that really showed the special historical significance of the castle. I enjoyed seeing the Leicester Gatehouse which was built by Robert Dudley in the late 1570s, it was extraordinary to see how life has changed over the years if you were to compare the building to a modern day building in the 21st century. It was a great trip staff took us to the most interesting parts of the castle and gave us some extra knowledge which could not be learned in full detail in a lesson. I enjoyed the trip and I am very thankful for the opportunity to visit Kenilworth Castle from the school. All in all it was a fabulous day out. "
Thanks to all staff who supported the trip...it could not have happened without you.
