Headteacher's Bulletin 3rd November 2023
Earlier this year, The Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire invited the County’s schoolchildren of all ages to enter the Northamptonshire Coronation Art Competition. The Coronation of King Charles III was a unique and historical event, and the colourful and exuberant imagery associated was a trigger for some inspirational entries across all age groups, with the finals being held at Lamport Hall last weekend. There were ten NSB finalists across the various age ranges who all produced exceptional pieces of work and I'm delighted to report that Logan Compston (Y12) won the 16-18 age group with her depiction of HRH King Charles in full regal pose. Logan's entry was so well received that her work will be sent to the King for possible display in Buckingham Palace itself.
On the Art theme, we are looking forward tremendously to our Visual Arts Exhibition on Tuesday, November 14th from 6-8pm, where we will be celebrating art and photography created by our students over the past year. It will feature the work of students across all year groups as well as some work by our alumni. There will also be live work created on the night by a selection of our Y13 students as well as optional opportunities for attendees to join in a mini workshop. Other School Arts / Theatre dates for the diary this term include, the Senior Ensemble Production of 'The Every Brothers’ this November - a poignant story of the ultimate sacrifice made during World War Two by three brothers whose family moved to Northamptonshire during the conflict and our ever- popular NSB Christmas Concert - 'Jingle all the Way' on December 7th. Tickets for all events are available from the NSB Box Office.
Finally, the NSB Trust are currently advertising for a range of Support Staff positions, including Assistant to the Executive Headteacher, Exam Invigilators and Cleaning Staff roles. Further details can be found through this link: NSB Support Staff vacancies
