Headmaster's Bulletin 4th December 2020
Every year we have a large number of students apply to study Medicine and related disciplines at some of the leading universities in the UK and these students are all members of the ‘MedSoc Society’ at the school. It's been a very busy couple of weeks for the society as the students have taken part in various activities to help them prepare for their applications and interviews at Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Schools.
Last week the students participated in practice ‘Multiple Mini Interviews’ (MMIs) which were organised by Dr. Tom Evans (former Head Boy of NSB) from the University of Buckingham Medical School. This week, Professor Bill Ribbans organised a Covid-19 symposium on MS Teams which 41 students logged into. The students were also very fortunate to listen to excellent presentations from Dr. Jennifer Johnson a GP from Coggeshall in Essex, Dr. Dush Mital a Consultant in Blood-borne Viruses from Milton Keynes Hospital & UCL and Professor Ribbans himself. Our thanks must go to Miss Graham for all her hard work in facilitating such an outstanding programme for the Medsoc this year.
Parents / carers are reminded that students must not be sent into school if they have COVID-19 symptoms or if anyone in their household has COVID-19 symptoms or is awaiting a COVID-19 test result. Families in these circumstances must follow the relevant isolation guidance as outlined by the NHS: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/
