Northampton School for Boys

Headmaster's Bulletin 2nd November 2018

Next week is very special for the school as we mark the Centenary of The Armistice. On Tuesday, the Sixth Formers will hold their annual remembrance assembly and will pay tribute to the former students of the school who gave their lives in war. The whole school will also stand in a two-minute silence at 11.00am on that day. Preparations are also being finalised for our remembrance event next Friday evening which will be attended by a wide range of parents, staff and local dignitaries: Click Here.

On the remembrance theme I was delighted to meet with five students (Jay Dhir Y10, Bryan Elias Y8, Daniel Vaughan Y8, Tom Vaughn Y10 and Cian Johnstone Y10) from the History Club, who, under the guidance of Miss Imison, have all helped contribute to the design of a remembrance lesson that will be used by the rest of the school during a dedicated Citizenship lesson next week. We are also proud of the expertly crafted lapel pins, featuring the school's crest, which was designed by Art teacher Mr Bradbury and are on sale at the school for £3, with all money going to The British Legion.

Congratulations to Tom Iaciofano who progressed through the Midlands stage of the U18 England Football trials at South Bromsgrove High School during the recent holiday.  Tom will now represent the Midlands against the North, South East and South West regions in the second stage of the national trials process at Stafford Town on Saturday 1st December.

Finally, our application for a new Secondary Free School in Northampton has been sent off to the Department for Education and we are very grateful for the many letters and emails of support from parents/carers and from individuals and organisations within the local and national community. The consultation is still open and can be accessed here: Click Here.
