Headmaster's Bulletin 15th December 2017

One of the highlights of the school calendar is the annual Awards Evening which was held on Tuesday of this week. We were delighted to welcome back as Guest of Honour, recently retired Senior Deputy Headmaster, Oliver Harris, who gave a customary thought-provoking and inspirational main address.

The levels of student achievement which were celebrated on the evening was quite staggering and all prize winners did incredibly well to secure an award amidst such fierce competition, within a very high achieving environment. It was also a pleasure to see so many of our former Year 13 students come back to the school to receive their awards, many from universities all over the country.

Charity Week is in full swing with Brightwell House taking centre stage on Thursday, Chipsey today and then Manley and Washington respectively on Monday and Tuesday of next week. It is fantastic to see the students work with such commitment towards raising funds for so many worthy causes.

Finally, a reminder to parents and carers that school closes for students at 1.30pm on the last day of term - Wednesday 20th December. As this is the final bulletin of this term, I hope that everyone associated with the school has an enjoyable Christmas and New Year and we look forward to welcoming the students back safely on Wednesday, January 3rd 2018.
