Presentation Mornings and Tours for Year 7 September 2022 Entry
PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE MORNINGS ARE ONLY FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE A SON IN YEAR 6 AND WHO WILL BE APPLYING FOR A SECONDARY SCHOOL PLACE THIS YEAR. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE PLACE OF SOMEONE IF YOU ARE NOT A YEAR 6 PARENT.
In "pre-pandemic times", NSB would expect in excess of 3500 people to attend both the Presentation and Open Evenings which we have put on successfully for many years. Last year, circumstances meant that presentations and tours were all offered virtually. Our arrangements this year have been amended in consideration of the lifting of several restrictions in schools but will contain a blend of virtual and in-person elements. We hope these arrangements will help parents/carers to make an informed choice regarding a potential application to NSB whilst at the same time helping to minimise public health concerns over the numbers of people attending the school site.
Parents/carers and boys are invited to come and see the school in action through booking onto one of a series of Presentation Mornings (see link below). The visit will include a presentation from the Headmaster and from the Head Boy and Head Girl, followed by a tour of the school and the opportunity to ask a member of the Senior Team any questions that you may have. Whilst the tour will not be able to go into the majority of lessons, you will still be able to get a flavour of the learning experience and outstanding facilities at NSB.
There will also be associated pre-recorded presentations to supplement the Presentation Mornings which will be made available on the school website in the Admissions section from Wednesday 22nd September.
Presentation Morning Timetable
09:00 to 09:10 - Arrive and enter via the Cripps Hall Theatre entrance. (see below)
09:10 to 09:40 - Presentation by the Headmaster, Head Boy and Head Girl in the Cripps Theatre.
09:40 to 10:25 - Tour of the school.

In order to reduce the number of visitors on the school site at any one time, we are capping tickets to 2 per booking, either one adult and one child or two adults. If this is impossible to fit with your family circumstances, please contact the Admissions Officer, Mrs Shocklidge, at the school on 01604 230240.
Please note that the tour is NOT SUITABLE for pushchairs and buggies and therefore we ask that these are not brought to the school.
If you have mobility needs or concerns, we will arrange an alternative tour for you, please contact the Admissions Officer, Mrs Shocklidge, at the school on 01604 230240 to discuss your specific circumstances.
ALL VISITORS FOR THE PRESENTATION MORNING MUST ENTER THE SCHOOL VIA THE CRIPPS HALL ENTRANCE WHICH IS OPPOSITE THE CRIPPS HALL CAR PARK.
If a time slot becomes fully booked, you will need to book a place at an alternative time.
PLEASE ONLY BOOK ONE TIME SLOT (any duplicate bookings for or related to the same student will have the later presentation time removed).
YOU MUST BOOK A TICKET FOR EACH PERSON ATTENDING THE PRESENTATION MORNING AND TOUR, SO 2 TICKETS FOR A PARENT/CARER AND CHILD ATTENDING
PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING YOUR PRESENTATION MORNING TIME SLOT
In order to reduce the number of people visiting the school site at one time, we ask that a maximum of two people attend the tour – either one adult and one child or two adults. If this is impossible to arrange, please contact Mrs Shocklidge, the Admissions Officer at the school.
All those attending the Presentation Morning are asked to sanitise their hands on entry to the school building.
Individuals may wear a face covering whilst on the school site if they wish but this is optional. The Cripps Theatre and school buildings are well ventilated with fresh air and visitors will be spaced out in the Theatre. Some of the tour is outside and visitors are advised to bring umbrellas in the event of poor weather.
All visitors to the site will be required to be accompanied by a member of staff and to always follow their instructions whilst on the tour of the school. It is advised that social distancing is observed where possible. Tour groups will have a maximum of 20 people.
If you, your son, or anyone else intending to visit the school on a Presentation Morning are exhibiting any symptoms of Covid-19 or are completing a period of self-isolation then THE AFFECTED INDIVIDUAL MUST NOT ATTEND the Presentation Morning. Please contact the Admissions Officer, Mrs Shocklidge at the school if this means that no one from your family can attend a tour.
