GCSE INTERNAL STUDENTS

When can I collect my results?

You can collect your results from 10.00am on Thursday 22nd August from the Concourse.

What if I am unable to collect my results?

If you are unable to collect your results, they can be posted out to you if you provide a self-addressed A5 envelope with a 'large' stamp. Alternatively, please download the 'Permission Form' for a named person to collect your results for you. They must bring proof of identity with them when collecting your results.

What do I need to do if I get the results required for the Sixth Form?

Congratulations if you have achieved the grades. You do not need to do anything but your conditional offer on the portal will be turned into a firm offer at some point during results day. If you decide that you do not want to come back in the Sixth Form, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can make your place available to another student.

What happens if I get the Minimum Entry Requirements but not the Subject Specific Entry Requirements for a place in the Sixth Form?

If you are in this situation, then there may be another suitable course that you have met the subject specific requirements for and would want to study in the Sixth Form. You will be asked to meet with a member of the Senior Staff who will be able to gather this information from you. Some appointments will be available on Friday 23rd August between 9.00am and 12.00pm, however, it is important to meet to discuss the matter as soon as possible. Please remember that there is no point in studying a subject that you are not interested in just because you want to return to the NSB Sixth Form. We will look at your Course Guidance Meeting notes to help us make an informed decision. We cannot guarantee that you can switch to a new subject combination as this will depend on spaces available in those classes.

If there is not another combination of subjects that you would be able to study then unfortunately we will not be able to offer you a place in the Sixth Form.

What happens if I do not get the Minimum Entry Requirements?

You will have the opportunity to meet with a member of the Senior Staff and also the Careers Adviser on results day to discuss possible options, however, in this situation you will not be able to return to the Sixth Form at NSB to continue your studies.

Can I ask for a paper to be re-marked?

On results day, you will be provided with information to indicate how close you are to the next grade boundary. There will be members of staff available to discuss this with you. In some instances it may be worth requesting for a re-mark, in other cases not.

Please ensure that you sign the document which will allow the school to gain access to your exam script as this will enable us to be able to make an informed decision about whether or not it is worthwhile to request a re-mark.

Please  CLICK HERE for further information about GCSE review of results and access to scripts.

Do I have the right to appeal this decision?

If you are unsuccessful in gaining a place in the Sixth Form then you have the right for your case to be heard by an independent appeals panel. You can find further information on this by CLICKING HERE.
