Northampton School for Boys

Headmaster's Bulletin 9th October 2020

Since the national lockdown in March the school has worked hard to further develop its remote learning provision and there has been extensive staff training in this area led ably by Mr Roger, Mr Peck and Mr Barker. The work has proved to be particularly important this week following a number of students from within Y13 having to isolate as close contacts. All the isolating students have had opportunity to dial in to the live classroom lessons at their normal timetabled slot.

We are looking forward to welcome Y6 students and their parents to the Technology Aptitude tests for Y7 entry tomorrow. As part of the admissions materials available for the prospective applicants to view, we have a new virtual tour of the school which was put together brilliantly by Mrs Greenaway and Mr Cave. It highlights the school's outstanding facilities and is an enjoyable watch. It may also be of particular interest to former students of the school who may not of have visited the school over a long period.

Finally, I mentioned in an earlier bulletin that Northamptonshire County Council had put forward a plan for the Billing Road to become a one-way system with bicycle lanes on the opposite side of the carriage way. It was announced by the County Council today that these original proposals have now been abandoned following stiff public opposition. The council are still looking at allocating money to encourage safer cycling along Billing and other neighbouring roads.
