Northampton School for Boys

Year 10 Work Experience

Due to the ongoing nature of the current Covid-19 Pandemic, Northampton School for Boys has taken the decision to postpone the planned Work Experience Placements for October (Tuesday 20th – Thursday 22nd) as part of the wider cancellation of this year’s Enterprise Week.

Whilst we understand that some students have successfully secured a placement, we are aware of an overwhelming majority of students who are unable to find and confirm a Work Experience Placement. It will of course be disappointing to many of the students in Y10 who have done all the research and preparation for their placement, however it is a necessary measure we must take to keep everyone safe in the current climate.

We will look to rearrange Y10 Work Experience for Term 6, to take place in June/July after the Y10 End of Year Examinations. No decision or preparation on this will begin until January when we will have updated guidance from the Department for Education on Work Experience for schools.
I will write to you again in the New Year to update on you on any decisions that have been made.

If your son was successful in securing his placement for October, can I please ask you to ensure he makes contact with the organisation to update them, thank them for participating and lastly asking if they would be happy to defer their placement until June/July, with confirmed dates to be sent out in due course.
