Please note that the school is open between the hours of 8:45am AND 3:45pm ONLY.

ONLY children of Key Workers or Vulnerable Children where parents/carers have completed the appropriate form are allowed to attend school.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND CHILDREN IN BEFORE THIS TIME AND ENSURE THEY ARE COLLECTED PROMPTLY.

Dear Parent/Carer

The government last night published a document which defines the students who can continue to attend school from Monday, 23rd March. This list includes students who are ‘vulnerable’ and those who are ‘the children of key workers’.

The definition of ‘vulnerable’ has been expanded from the definition issued by the government yesterday and now includes ‘children who are supported by social care, those with safeguarding and welfare needs, including child in need plans, on child protection plans, ‘looked after’ children, young carers, disabled children and those with education, health and care (EHC) plans.’

The list of ‘key workers’ can be found in the following document: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision  . If you believe that you are a key worker then you should read this guidance in full.

Key worker parents should note the first key principle of this guidance before deciding whether to send your child to school or not:

The government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attendParents whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response include those who work in health and social care and in other key sectors listed. Many parents working in these sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home. Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.’

If, having read this guidance, your child meets the criteria for attending school from Monday and you absolutely need’ to send your son / daughter into school then please complete the ‘vulnerable child / child of a key worker form’ which can be accessed through the front page of the school website by 2pm today so that the school can plan for provision on Monday.

Children who attend should be in school uniform and bring PE/Sports kit in with them. Lunch will be available to purchase as normal.

The school will continue to offer places to children classified as ‘vulnerable’ or ‘who are children of key workers’ for as long as it is operationally able to do so. Offers of places may become prioritised or the entire provision withdrawn if staffing levels at the school reduce further.

Yours sincerely
