Northampton School for Boys

Headmaster's Bulletin 22nd June 2018

NSB is held in great store by the former students of the school and today many of them will descend upon the RAC Club in London for their annual Dinner, as ever, smoothly organised by Mr Lee. It is always an uplifting experience to listen to our respected alumni, some of whom have connections with the school dating back to the 1940s. The stories are always entertaining and the passion and affection that the former students have for NSB always shines through.

I must take this opportunity to credit our Year 11 and 13 students who are coming to the end of their GCSE and GCE examinations today after a concerted four weeks of a rigorous examination schedule. Much has been said in the press about the increased pressures that the new, more in depth and challenging Public Examinations have brought on students across the country and I congratulate both year cohorts on their largely outstanding approach to their studies.

There are numerous dates in the diary of major school events coming up in the next few weeks and as well as a range of concerts, shows, the Science Fair, the two Sports Days and the Arts Awards Evening we are also looking forward to our first ever cricket fixture against the MCC on Sunday July 15th which is a great honour for the school. We are hosting rather than playing the game at Lords and it promises to be a great experience for all involved.

Finally a reminder that next Friday, June 29th, is a Training Day for staff only.
