We believe that our curriculum provides a base that enables all boys to maximise their choices throughout the school - and beyond. From their first day at the school, boys are placed in House-based tutor groups. For lessons, boys are grouped in bands according to ability. This helps us to provide appropriate levels of challenge, and helps the boys to gain early experience of success. We celebrate success - it encourages future efforts! The most able find challenge within and beyond the classroom. We provide a programme of stimulating activities to encourage boys to stretch themselves. Boys are later invited to join our Honours Programme for gifted and talented students in year 9 and beyond. An outstanding Ofsted report led to NSB being invited to be one of just fourteen founding Ambassador Schools of the National Association for Gifted and Talented Youth. We aim to do the best by ALL boys across the full ability range. We believe that all boys can excel at something, and that it is our job to help each find his own strength. |
