Northampton School for Boys took part in the 1st Round of the ESSA Water Polo U16 Competition held at Warwick School.

Five schools entered and the format was that each school played every other school two halves of six minutes with no stopping of the clock.

"The students have come on so much in the past eighteen months and this was a tournament involving the top private schools in the Midlands. This was a big learning curve for the team.

Whilst we were beaten, we were not beaten through lack of skill and team tactics, but just by sheer size and strength of the opposition. The other schools were all Year 11 students, they were good as well, and our team contained only two Year 11 students and a mixture of other years.

When the other schools were not playing they cheered for us, particularly any goals we scored - which was great!
