NSB Rowing Students take to the Water 2009

The students took part in the Northampton Head race, a time trial event that saw over 100 crews take part in classes, over four divisions. The conditions were far from perfect: cold and breezy. Even so, the boys did both themselves and the school proud. They rowed hard, and completed the 1800 metre course in a time of 7:08 minutes, beating a university crew in the process!
Bearing in mind the crew only took to the water for the first time in September, and are only able to practise in a boat on a Sunday, they did a remarkable job. The potential for the club to produce future wins was evident. It is my belief that the club can go on to great things. The members of the newly formed boat club are highly committed, and are working hard to improve their skills and fitness. |

We have received fantastic support from the school to date, but are always looking for other ways to raise funds to put towards equipment, and ultimately our own boats. Should you wish to support the team by purchasing a raffle ticket (over 16's only), or in any other way, please contact me at the school.
